Abundant Life of a Christian Birthday Celebrant
















Today is my birthday.

A few decades ago, but not half a century ago yet, I first experienced light and life on this earth. My life and faith journey has been meaningful and fully human. Today, I am grateful to Christ Jesus, my Lord, my God, my Saviour and my friend, for this opportunity to enjoy His creation and to experience God's divinity in me and in others.

God has abundantly blessed me with faith, hope and love through the people he has placed around me and those I share a bit of time with as friends, colleagues, fellow parishioners, classmates, neighbours, or simply as journey mates.

I am a Pilgrim. Like all Christians, I travel in this pilgrimage here on earth trusting in the loving generosity of God. And with Mary, help of all Christians, I hope that we will reach our final destination to experience God's eternal glory.

On this day, I invite you to journey with me in this beautiful world. Even if it's only through these words meeting your eyes and thoughts.

LENT: Time to Deepen Faith

During this season of lent and being a year of faith, it is very appropriate for us to dig deeper into our faith. Digging deeper can be both inward and outward. Praying and Fasting Inwardly, we are called during lent to pray and fast. We pray more often to keep us in communion with God several times in our waking and conscious hours. We fast in order to be in control of ourselves, of our wants  and worldly desires. But it should not stop there because when we fast, we are expected to give to the hungry the money we did not spend or food that we did not consume. Fasting also makes us get to know ourselves  better, especially knowing that we can control our desires and plan our time better. Abstinence Outwardly, if we abstain from watching TV each night or stop checking out Facebook each day or hour, we  can have enough time to read a spiritual development book, do meditation, pray or simply be quiet in our own  favourite place. Christmas: Is it really for children?

Christmas Parade After watching the Sydney Christmas parade, we followed the whole contingent to Tumbalong Park. The boys wanted to see again the big blown-up animals. They were bigger than Santa! They were very excited with the colours and costumes of the parade participants. All these simple things must have given them a feeling of a festive celebration, so it must be Christmas!!!
