Don't worry! Be joyful!

Preparation for Christmas:

We are again in this wonderful time of being reminded about God’s love for us. We thank God for family, old and new friends, new adventures, new learning, new realizations and discoveries within and outside ourselves.

Most of all, we thank God for giving us His Son, Jesus. God’s love for us brought Jesus to our lives as our personal Saviour and Lord.

This year has not been easy for many people, mainly due to the global financial crisis all over the world. However, finance (money) is only one part of our lives. We have other areas of our lives which we can still continue to develop. Are we continuing to develop our social, spiritual, intellectual, physical and creative lives? I believe that at every stage of our lives, we need to continue to learn, to grow and to share.

This way, our minds will be open to new ideas and our hearts willing to catch and enjoy every opportunity to be joyful! How do we then live joyful lives?

Here is the GOOD NEWS:

Philippians 4:4 encourages us: “May you be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!”

This reminds us of the saying: Don’t worry! Be happy! But, is it possible not to worry? Worry doesn’t change nor solve anything. We learn to worry from our parents, teachers and people we usually hang around with. Worriers are never fun to be with. Whatever you do, they worry. If we pray and trust in God in all things, we should never worry. Some people confuse empathy and care with worrying. I remember a close relative of mine saying to her son, “I worry about you because I love you.”

In Matthew 6:34, it says: “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Live one day at a time. Yes, we may plan our weekly activities. We could also set our yearly goals. Yet, we should always trust that if we thank God in everything and pray about everything, worry will slowly vanish. It is not easy but if we trust, really trust in the Lord, we will stop worrying. We will offer to Him all our circumstances, both the joyful and the tough times in our lives.

Ultimately, nothing really matters but the love of God. So let us continue to trust and love God. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Let’s all enjoy each day of our lives!

Be joyful!

All the best!

Ros
